Tori and Leah grew up living down the street, in the same suburban town in Philadelphia. In 2007, they were just teenagers who went to different high schools and ran in different friend groups. Little did they know they were fated to become best friends and co-founders. In the summer of 2016, Tori and Leah found themselves going through the same thing: a big breakup with a serious boyfriend. Their exes just happened to be best friends. Tori and Leah formed an unparalleled bond by supporting each other through their heartbreaks. The girls turned their heartbreak into a business venture, founding Boys Lie in 2018. The brand’s aesthetic is defined by pilled and vintage sweatsuits, pressed with empowering slogans and mood-wrenching poems that address the painful reality of breakups. Boys Lie isn’t just another loungewear brand, it’s a movement. Boys Lie has created a community to support and encourage people who are going through heartbreak and learning how to heal.
